Moreover, we are the only insurance company in the market who publish client reviews and opinions on our website.
We are an all-purpose insurance company offering professional and proven solutions for a wide range of clients – from the general public, small traders, small and medium enterprises up to major companies, towns or municipalities. We are ready to draw up insurance policies fully matching client’s needs, so really everybody can make his or her own choice with us.
Whether small or major, we are able to successfully address all claims. We use both the extensive experience of our experts and the latest technologies. As a result, we are able to pay 85% of motor claims within two days of the relevant documents being submitted to us. In property insurance, we pay 95% of claims within five days of receipt of relevant documents.
We are here to support our clients in adverse life situations. For generations we have been standing by them, providing reliable security not only to them, but also to those close to them, and to everything they care about.

Consolidation of activities
Česká pojišťovna bought the insurance portfolio of Generali Pojišťovna. Together, the companies combined their activities and are now operating under a new name, Generali Česká pojišťovna. The biggest insurer in the Czech market was thus established.

Generali CEE Holding became the 100% owner of Česká pojišťovna.

Part of Generali PPF Holding
Česká pojišťovna became a member of Generali PPF Holding, combining insurance and other activities of both groups in Central and Eastern Europe.

Privatisation
Introduction of the 'free market' brought a competitive environment to the business. Privatisation took place the following year and a joint-stock company called Česká pojišťovna was established.

New logo
Three linden leaves became the basis for the new logo of Česká státní pojišťovna.

Establishment of state insurance companies
Česká státní pojišťovna (Czech State Insurance Company) and Slovenská státní pojišťovna (Slovak State Insurance Company) were established.

1945-1948
Insurance market monopoly
By decree of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, the whole contractual insurance industry was nationalised in 1945. In 1948, the insurance market became a monopoly with the five existing insurers merged into a single entity - Československá pojišťovna n.p.

100 years since establishment of the insurance company
The company donated a stained glass window to St. Vitus Cathedral on the occasion of its 100th birthday. První česká vzájemná pojišťovna (First Czech Mutual Insurance Company) had a Thun Chapel window made, depicting motifs related to threats to life and property.

Extension of insurance products
The 1920s brought rapid development of road traffic. In the early days of motoring, První česká vzájemná pojišťovna therefore came up with an offer of insurance for powered vehicles.

Major claim
To assist with the reconstruction of the National Theatre after the fire, the company paid 300,000 Austro-Hungarian guldens.

Establishment of the insurance company
27 October 1827 statutes of a company called Císařsko-královský, privilegovaný, český, společný náhradu škody ohněm svedené pojišťující ústav (Imperial-Royal, Privileged, Czech, Joint and Fire Caused Loss Insuring Institute) were approved. The institute’s name was later changed to První česká vzájemná pojišťovna
